Product Photography and Following the Bandwagon: Dos and Don'ts for Planning Advertising Campaigns

The Internet has made it relatively easier for people starting their own online businesses to reach a wider audience right off the bat. It still takes considerable effort, though, to really be able to advertise your firm, which is why advertising campaigns are still needed.

It takes more than just looking for a professional to handle product photography in Toronto, say, or wherever you happen to be living. Here are several things to remember so your campaign won't flop.

  • Don't jump on the bandwagon. There are trends in advertising, just as there are trends in fashion. Both don't tend to last for long. You'll want to make sure the trend fits your message, or supplements it – otherwise you'll wind up with several confused prospects.
  • Do define expectations. If you go into an ad campaign without a clear idea of what you want from it, you'll be hard-pressed to pinpoint a specific message. Once you have your objectives, you can plan your campaign around that. Promoting a new product or service? Adding new areas you'll be offering free shipping to? Make sure that much is obvious in your ads.
  • Don't just follow blindly. Just like jumping on the bandwagon, following what other companies have done won't make you an instant success. Instead, people will see you as a copycat, which isn't a good thing. Find what's unique about your brand, and build on that.
  • Do be consistent. That doesn't mean using the same layout or colour scheme over and over, nor does it mean not getting creative with your ads, Facebook posts, and so on. What consistency in advertising means is, people should be able to tell it's your firm. Not someone else's.
  • Don't count it as an expense. Good advertising is an investment. If you're budget-conscious, just figure out how much you can afford  to spend. Using the 'leftovers' from your budget will limit what you can do, even with a whole vat of creativity at your fingertips.
  • Do pay attention to your website. Make sure it's updated – like adding a tag line you started using – and simple enough to navigate. If you need photos and can afford it, get a Toronto commercial photographer to ensure you have good quality photos in your catalogue.

The 4 Trending Photo Themes of the 21st Century

In the old times, pictures were very difficult to propagate because most of them are made singularly. They are hard to share to the masses because they are confined in the hands of the film owner. Furthermore, opening them to the public's eye is also expensive because art exhibits are too expensive to come by.

These days, photos are shared on a regular basis and are spread uncontrollably all over the world. Whether it's something for Professional Photography Toronto or just an average candid shot for the sake of exposure, the people's fondness for image capturing is still ever present and never fading.

There are many themes to choose from but there five that seem to stand out above all the rest:

1. Landscapes & Travelogues

Documenting travels has never been easier with the advanced digital cameras available today. Travel enthusiasts just snap at the sceneries splayed in front of them. Landscapes are popular as well with the way they are presented in both natural and industrial locations. However, there is nothing that could be compared to the way nature exhibits its grandiose and unparalleled beauty.

2. Architecture

Nature will always be the beholder of great beauty but one shouldn't undermine the beauty of man-made structures. They serve as huge depictions of the evolution of mankind. From the ancient ruins of historical places to the skyscrapers of the advanced metropolitans, the progress of human capabilities is undeniable. A photo with a subject of architecture brings forth the advent of the human touch.

3. Objects & People

Not everybody is surrounded with the grandiosity of natural landscapes or the city skyline. However, everyone has the access to the beauty in the simplicity of human lives. People will always have the tendency to croon over sentimentality. Photos with this kind of subject exhibit the slice of life. This then creates a sense of emotional connection. One that is created based on an image that has an extraordinarily ordinary appeal into a person's life.

4. Fashion

Probably the faction where Commercial Photography Toronto has been greatly utilized, the trend of fashion is a classic in the means of image capturing. People use photos as a form of self expression through various clothing styles and as basis on what is currently being accepted in the society. These photos serve as the beacon of every person's characterization in how they would present themselves to the corporeal world.
